June "Tattered Walls" Pages by Sharon!

Hi everyone!  I am thrilled to be here today sharing three new scrapbook pages that I made using the gorgeous "Tattered Walls" paper collection:

To me, this is a "must-have" collection for any scrapbooker.  It is so versatile and each and every page is absolutely beautiful.  So without further ado, here are my layouts . . .

Layout #1:  Family

I decided to use the cool "Powder Room" paper:

One of my favorite parts of making this page was using the "Stone Cottage" chipboard piece.

I decorated it with Taupe and Blue Sky embossing powder

And I did the same with the Chipboard "Family" word, too.

Here's a different view:

I especially liked scrapping a treasured family photo of the four of us using this beautiful collection.

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Tattered Walls "the Powder Room"
Chipboard: Stone Cottage, "Family"
Embossing Powder: Taupe, Sky Blue
Flowers: Spring Blooms, Wanderlust Lilies
Seedlings: Aquamarine
Lace:  Lace 1, Lace 2, Lace 10
Ephemera:  Tattered Walls

Layout #2:  Sweet Memories

I came across some old photos from my wedding day, and just had to scrap this one!

I used the stunning "Maid's Rom" paper:

Here is a close up so that you can get a better look:

The "Glam Frame" and "Memories" chipboard pieces worked well here.  And the taupe embossing powder is a dream to work with!

Also, I stamped the musical notes and embossed directly on my page using the
"For the Birds" stamp set:

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Tattered Walls "the Maids Room"
Chipboard: Glam Frame, "Memories"
Embossing Powder: Taupe
Stamp: For the Birds
Glitter: Pink Carnation
Flowers: Garden Blooms, Spring Blooms
SeedlingsRed Grape
Lace:  Lace 3, Lace 10, Lace 12
Ephemera:  Tattered Walls

Layout #3:  Our Story

I used the other side of "the Maid's Room" paper because it resembled a book and went perfectly with my "Our Story" theme, which is based on my daughter's love for each other.

The centerpiece of this page is this beautiful "Fancy Love" stamp set:

I embossed directly on my page, and stamped over the embossing in black to bring out "Love One Another" better:

And here is a different view:

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Tattered Walls "Apartment B" and "the Maid's Room"
Chipboard: Embellished Frame, "Our Story"
Embossing Powder: Ivory
Stamp: Fancy Love, Home Accents
Glitter: Gilded Rose
Flowers: Remnants Blooms
Lace:  Ivory Braided Trim, Lace 12
Ephemera: Tattered walls

A Look at 2017

2017 has been an amazing year for Blue Fern Studios.  We have introduced new paper collections, added many new chipboard and stamp designs, and our new Seedlings.

Each week on our blog and social media sites, we have shared gorgeous projects from our talented Design Team.  As we say goodbye to 2017 and move on to 2018, we want to thank each of these amazing women.  They are so very creative and put their hearts into each project they create.

Here is a look back at some of the favorites from each designer:

Our first layout was created by Babi Kind.  Babi selected this layout as one of her favorites of 2017 and said, "I can't believe this year past by so quickly.  I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to share some of my work with you and to work with this amazing and talented team. There were so many nice collections and projects and it was hard to choose a favorite from 2017.  For some reason, maybe because I've spent a large part of my life in a tropical country, I like creating summer projects.  The color, textures, and everything from summer makes me happy and energized. This layout reminds me of a great time we had this year traveling with my daughter, discovering new things and enjoying the beautiful weather."

Tartine told me that she spends a lot of time when creating a layout, and I think you will see that below.  When she sent this layout to me, she said, "It's really hard for me to choose my favorite layout, and especially to say why she is my favorite. I think it's this one because it reminds me that we must never give up our dreams and believe in ourselves Thank you so much BFS for make my dream come true."

Pascale couldn't choose which layout was her favorite, so she sent me a couple to choose from.   I selected this beautiful monocromatic layout.  Pascale is known for creating  layouts using images of magnificent buildings.  This photo is a view from the Monastery of Claregalway that was taken during her trip in Ireland.

Vera also couldn't choose her favorite layout, but sent me several to choose from.  I chose this one using paper from the beautiful Seaside Cottage collection.  I absolutely love the movement she created in her design.

Annie let me select one of my favorite layouts that she created.  When I saw this one, I immediately knew it was the one.  The stunning design is fresh and unique.  Annie used the beautiful designs on the paper and highlighted them.

I chose this layout from Catherine.  First is the amazing background she has created.  I love the way the gold embossed chipboard looks against the background, and all the lovely Blue Fern flowers that frame this adorable photo.

Wendy created this sweet layout which was my favorite.  Every piece of this design fits exactly where it needs to - and brings the entire thing together.  The harmony of colors are perfect with this fun photo.

It has been an amazing year and we are so blessed to have spent it with such an amazing group of creative women.  Thank you to all of you for your inspiration!

Meet our May Blue Fern Fan of the Month!

Welcome to May everyone!  We hope you are enjoying all the beauty and wonder of spring.  The beginning of a new month means we have a brand new Blue Fern Fan to introduce to you.  This month we are excited to have Cheryl Kearns join us.  Cheryl creates the most amazing (really amazing!) albums using Blue Fern products.  We can't wait to show you what she has created with our Spring Parade collection.  So, let's turn things over to Cheryl.

Hello everyone! My name is Cheryl Kearns, of Cheryl’s Paper Creations. I live in sunny Southwest Florida with my husband of thirty three years. We moved here from Cape Cod, Massachusetts in 1999, and love it.

I am a retired floral designer.  I have been paper crafting for fifteen years. I worked as a teacher/designer at my local scrapbook store until it closed several years ago. I specialize in making mini albums that showcase imported laces and flowers.  I was introduced to Blue Fern Studios papers while working on a design team.  I love the quality and beautiful designs, as they are perfect for highlighting my shabby chic style.

For the cover I used Spring Parade’s “Sunday Best”  paper.  I placed some purple trim on top of the white lace that wraps around the album from the spine, as well as pearl trim around the border of the album. The focal point on the cover is Blue Fern’s chipboard piece “Memories”, which I embossed with their Iris embossing powder. I used both their Winter and Spring Lilies, Attic Charm Daisies, and the Organic Vine Chipboard for my floral clusters on the cover and throughout the album.

The spine is five inches wide, and is covered with several pieces of white Venice lace and an appliqué.

Pages 1 and 2 : Here I used Spring Parade’s “June” paper on both pages.  I also used the Mini Flourishes chipboard pieces around the floral clusters. I tend to make simple pockets on most of my pages in order to highlight the various laces and other embellishments.  Each pocket holds three 4x6 photo mats.

So, there is a look at the cover, spine, and the first 2 pages of Cheryl's stunning album.
Be sure to stop by next Wednesday when we will feature more pages this album.

3 layout with Yuko

Hello! It is Yuko.

Because I did not make it in time for my posting date in November
Posted on December 8.

The paper of Christmas that arrived was prettier than expected!
I made a canvas and 12 inches layout at once!

【PEACE LOVE JOY】

I made it with an A4 size canvas.
After applying Gesso to the base, color it with mist
Textured with modeling paste.

ICECLE embossed powder on snowflake chipboard.
This color is white with silver lame and is perfect for the coming season.

The title was unintentionally uneven on purpose as it would be a little antique feeling.
The white part was painted with Gesso and from there the ANTIQUEGOLD was put on a sparse and heated.
It became unevenness of nice feeling

Snow of fluffy is piled up .

In addition to Gesso, mist, acrylic paint, stickles, stone, glass beads etc
I have a look on it.

Chipboard -  Winter Flakes/Large Flake
Mist- Winter Mint
Embossing powder - ANTIQUE GOLD/ICECLE

【IT'S A holly jolly CHRISTMAS】
I also used the paper of this frame last year.
It is really a favorite!
Just by using this paper as a backing sheet you will already be cute!

The red flower is a thing of this series.
Red flowers are indispensable for Christmas.
The white flower is also in the same series, but I took the flower core and put the grain of the gold.

In the background, I imagined the snow falling down
and attached a pattern with a dot stencil.

The title was embossed with 14 KARAT.
This embossing is also very sparkling and very beautiful !

chipboard -  Holly Jolly Christmas
Flower-Soft Blossoms/Christmas Blooms
Mist-sky

The third one was made in the autumn series "memories" of the previous work.

【An AUTUMN Story】
This series is nice with a chic hue feeling like autumn.

I decomposed the leaf chipboard and divided it into leaves and branches.
The blades were painted with textures and lamels.

I put modeling paste in the branch part and added a texture
like tree to make it a dead tree style.

I painted the background texture with modeling paste mixed with paint.
